João Pessoa mantém ponto facultativo de Carnaval; comércio irá funcionar normalmente e bancos públicos e privados fecham durante o feriado
O prefeito de João Pessoa, Cícero Lucena (Progressistas), decidiu conceder o ponto facultativo no feriadão de Carnaval, entre os dias 28 de fevereiro a 2 de março, para os servidores do município. A portaria da Secretária de Administração (Sead) será publicada na edição desta quinta-feira (17) do Semanário Oficial.
O procurador-geral do município, Bruno Nóbrega, declarou que a decisão do prefeito em manter o ponto facultativo foi ponderada e buscou não prejudicar servidores do município que já estejam com viagens programadas, nem o setor de bares e restaurantes que também estão se programando para o aumento de clientes no período.
De acordo com Bruno Nóbrega, o ato normativo não trata dos setores privados, que irão funcionar de forma normal durante o período carnavalesco. “O comércio funciona normalmente, porque não é feriado municipal. Não consta nada no ato referente às demais atividades como comércio, igrejas, que vão funcionar normalmente”.
O presidente da Câmara de Dirigentes Lojistas de João Pessoa (CDL-JP), Nivaldo Vilar confirmou o funcionamento do comércio no período e destacou que os empregadores não vão precisar pagar adicional aos funcionários.
“Se fosse feriado oficial, a gente teria que pagar a verba indenizatória para o funcionário e dar uma folga posterior a ele, que não é o caso. Então, o lojista que abrir não precisa pagar nenhum adicional ao funcionário”, afirmou Vilar.
As indústrias instaladas em João Pessoa devem seguir o cronograma normal de trabalho no período de Carnaval. Já as agências bancários das instituições financeiras públicas e privadas anunciaram que vão manter o calendário nacional de feriados e fechar durante os festejos de Momo.
